Two groups of students from KS3 and KS4 were invited to join other schools in the Outdoor Team Challenge event. The students were able to enjoy the following activities -
“The Great Escape” were they had to overcome a number of physical and metal challenges such as – Barrel walk, Skis, Blindfold Minefield, Swamp, up and over.
“Survival of the fittest” The students had to make a shelter, filter clean water, make and light a fire and heat the water over the fire to make hot drinks.
“Fly the Flat”, The students had to cross a channel of water onto an island using only one kayak (no paddle) and a length of rope. Before crossing over the team had to design and make a flag then transport it across the water and raise the flag onto a 3 metre high flagpole to signal successful completion of the challenge.
“Sign of the Times”. The students had to canoe to fetch equipment to build a signpost back on land. Then canoe to collect signs of UK Cities from a boat in middle of the lake and put the signs on the post pointing in the correct direction.
