Make £5 Blossom with Youth Enterprise
'Students from Tweendykes Sixth Form took part in £5 Blossom with Youth Enterprise. They were partnered with a company called Netopian who gave them a loan of £150 to start a business. The students worked very hard throughout the year using their employability and enterprising skills. The business was named as Craft Crazy and they held Pop Up Shops selling gifts for Christmas, Mothers Day and Easter. They also formed a partnership with Bransholme Centre so that their business can continue into the future.
Jordan Gee, Michael Simm and Jack Smith who are part of the business delivered a presentation in front of 15 other Hull primary and secondary schools and their staff at the celebration ceremony of Youth Enterprise at the Guildhall. From the profit they made they were able to repay the £150 loan and also make a donation to the James Cracknell Youth Enterprise Trust and Duchenne Charity.
Humber Education Trust
Dear Parent/Carer and/or Community Member,
You will probably have heard that many schools are now forming Multi Academy Trusts and are no longer part of the local authority. Our school would like to join with a group of other schools to form a Trust called Humber Education Trust (HET).
The schools that wish to make up the new HET are:
· Maybury Primary School
· Tweendykes Special School (pending governors’ approval)
· Parkstone Primary School
· Woodland Primary School
· Clifton Primary School
· St Nicholas Primary School
· Neasden Primary School
· Ganton School
· Christopher Pickering Primary School
· Broadacre Primary School
· Gillshill Primary School
· Adelaide Primary School
This is an exciting time for our schools and a great opportunity for us to join together and create a very strong partnership. We already work closely and if we form a Trust we can work even closer and help each other even more. We want to be strong together but still be separate schools and this is what we would like to do when we form the Trust.
We want people to tell us what they think about these plans and are asking pupils, parents, staff, governors and the wider community.
On Thursday 30th March at 9.30 am at Tweendykes School we have arranged for parents and community members to come in and tell us what they think. We will also be able to answer any questions you may have.
We look forward to seeing you at this event and if you want more information you can visit our website at www.tweendykes.co.uk
Yours sincerely

Merry Christmas
We have had a really lovely few weeks in school in the build up to Christmas – I have been so proud of all our pupils
Despite the bad weather the carol service went ahead with the Reverend coming to us. The choir, the nativity and all the readers did a fantastic job.
The highlight however was this year’s concert “Christmas with the Aliens”- I don’t think I can remember a concert where so many pupils shone- we really have a talented group of young people !!
From all the staff at Tweendykes I want to wish you and your families a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year- see you all in 2017 !

Prom 2016
Thursday 14th July, saw students, staff and families coming together at YPI on Chanterlands Avenue to celebrate another fantastic year for the Tweendykes 6th Form. The students looked fantastic in their formal dresses and suits. They were dancing and singing all night, with fun party games and competitions and even a photo booth crammed full of props, which made for some fabulous photos. Special thanks to Lesley Kemp, Vicky Cartwright and Pat Baggley for organising such a memorable night. We’d also like to thank all the staff at YPI, Andy the DJ and YOLO photography for making the night the success it was.
