Parental First Aid Course

In March this year, school responded to a parent request for basic First Aid training to be better equipped to deal with emergencies such as seizures and choking . The local training company HSTS laid on a 3 hour course which 13 parents attended in school. It was an excellent hands-on course, as we practicised how to give CPR and abdominal thrusts, should the need arise. The trainer was excellent as she took into account that some of our children are non-verbal or may be wheelchair bound and she was happy to answer questions.

We all learned a lot and even received a certificate at the end of the course. It was really worthwhile and I hope that it becomes an annual training offer for Tweendykes parents and carers.

Please contact the school if you would be interested in attending a future course.
