Time for some fun

Tweendykes School is committed to including the community in all aspects of school life. We have close partnerships with local secondary and primary schools and are part of the Bransholme and District Learning Partnership. This partnership has enabled schools to join together to arrange events such as the Celebration of Bransholme Festival and Bransholme Schools in Bloom competition.

Pupils are able to join in lunchtime clubs which include ITC, sport, art, choir and dance.

After school clubs prove very popular with all pupils. We offer a range of activities such as drama, sport, leisure activities, rebound therapy and visit to the local youth club.

During the holidays we offer families the chance to spend quality time together. We team up with Winifred Holtby Academy to offer Family Learning days, these are very popular and we are always open to suggestions on how they can be improved. We have received Children in Need funding in order to arrange trips and days out for families. Events in 2015 included The Big Gig at Hull University, Skegness, and Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

If there is any particular trip/activity you feel your child and family would benefit from please let Lesley Kemp know and she will do her best to meet your requirements.

Fundraising

Tweendykes are involved in several fundraising events throughout the year, these normally involve an educational opportunity as well as being great fun.

Volunteers

We have a number of parent volunteers who are warmly welcomed by class staff. We also have work experience students from schools and colleges across the city who all are keen on learning more about children with a learning difficulty or physical disability. Volunteers are a great help, most of our volunteers are undertaking NVQ level 3 Teaching Assistant course which we run here at Tweendykes in partnership with adult education. If you are interested in volunteering with us please contact Lesley Kemp at the school for an application pack.

All volunteers require a DBS check as part of our safeguarding procedures before working in school. Volunteers are supervised at all times by school staff.
